New opportunities for students

On April 22 Alexey Shaburov, Director of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy met with an old friend and project partner of Sokolniki Museum-Educational Centre— MGIMO Alumni Association and MGIMO Students Association. Negotiations were focused on mutual partnership to promote the project at the world arena. The parties agreed to hold a significant event – the project presentation in Paris — scheduled for 2011.

Another important issue is an agreement providing the students with an opportunity to work as interpreters on MEC's Sokolniki exhibitions. MGIMO professionally works with different languages; thus this February it was listed in the Guinness World Records for it teaches 53 state languages. Students of MGIMO working at Sokolniki MEC exhibitions will enhance the company’s opportunities by offering quality translation services to its exhibitors. Students, in their turn, will not only practice their language skills, but will get a valuable experience as they say “in the field” and get to know exhibition process.

The MGIMO Alumni Association has been cooperating with Sokolniki MEC for many years and many times supported the company’s exclusive projects. Now this mutual partnership will grow stronger.
