The Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy held the first National School of Calligraphy alumni reunion on May 25 to reflect on the annual progress and discuss completed courses and workshops. Students' and graduates' success is the best evidence of the teaching staff's performance. We are even more proud to note that many students' works have been put on display at the 6th International Exhibition of Calligraphy, alongside the pieces by recognized artists.
On 25th of May at 7 p.m. the National school of beautiful writing art kindly invites the adult courses old students to the party at the Contemporary Museum of calligraphy. Since the year 2010 about 1000 students, children and adults have graduated from the school. We are convinced that the passion for the calligraphy unifies all of you and therefore on this day we kindly invite you to feel out the atmosphere of aesthetics, creation and communication with those people who also enter into the love for the beautiful writing
Between May 17 and 20 the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy rolled out an exhibit at WANEXPO Festival, the most popular and attended event for future moms, young parents and their children. The exhibit grabbed the attention of many – and proved exciting to combine Festival and cultural experiences.
At the end of April, the final lessons were held in the framework of the children course at the National school of beautiful writing art. During the final lesson the kids have presented their final works. They proudly showed the correct writing, their tools command skills, compositional thinking and their ability to decorate the calligraphic texts.
Dear friends, the National school of beautiful writing art continues the enrollment of students for the calligraphy course. We offer a wide range of calligraphy courses, a multilevel educational system, qualified teachers and one and two day term intensive courses for the beginners and advanced students.
On 27th and 28th of March a 2 day term “Pointed Pen” intensive course related to the pointed pen writing technique will be held. Under the guide the teacher Artem Lebedev, calligrapher and designer, the participants will get acquainted with the tool’s specific skills and the main style of writing it can perform – English italics, as well as with the calligraphic techniques of decoration of the writings.
The “Encounter with calligraphy” course attainment certificates were delivered in the Contemporary Museum of calligraphy. Within 15 hours of the course, the listeners got acquainted with the art of calligraphy, origins of the main historical scripts and they got an initial overview of the tools and the skills of their operation.
On Sunday, 10th of February, a demonstration lesson with profile “Calligraphy based on the italic cursive type” was held. The teacher Ekaterina Orfanova carried out a master class for the children and their parents in love with calligraphy, learning them to make a greeting card for the Saint Valentine’s Day.
