In April a selection of precious and refined masterpieces by Islamic calligraphy masters will be showcased in Congresium Conference Hall (Ankara) and Ayasofya Museum (Istanbul), World Bulletin reports.

The selection features works by Ottoman sultans Mahmud II, Selim III, Murad III, calligraphy masters of late Ottoman Empire Hafiz Osman, Yesarizade Mustafa Izzet, Sami Efendi, etc, as well as contemporary artists. The 300 works have been gathered from the Calligraphy Museum under the Suleymaniye library, the Istanbul City Museum and the Topkapi Palace.

The event will be the first display of such a vast selection of works by Islamic calligraphy masters in Turkey.
