Sokolniki ECC hosted the United Russia’s Young Guard Congress

On December 22, 2010 the IV Congress of the Young Guard movement was held at Pavilion #3 of Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Сentre. The congress was officially opened by Boris Gryzlov, the RF State Duma Chairman, Chairman of United Russia Supreme Council, and Dmitry Zhukov, Deputy RF Prime Minister. Around 2000 participants worked at the congress among which there were 168 delegates, representatives of Young Guard regional offices, representatives of youth organizations in CIS and Europe. Also, within the framework of the congress the Young Guard movement recruited a new member – notorious Anna Chapman who was voted solid. On completion of the opening ceremony Boris Gryzlov was presented a catalogue of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy, given by Aleksandr Kvasnikov, Deputy Director General of Sokolniki ECC. Once again Sokolniki proved it is the venue for high level events.
