Outstanding Middle Eastern calligrapher to hold a workshop in Sokolniki

This Sunday the International Exhibition of Calligraphy, which takes place from November 1 to December 15, 2012 at the Contemporary museum of calligraphy, is to feature an exclusive workshop by one of the best Iranian experts in writing.

Babak Rashvand Hamamlo – calligrapher, artist, illustrator and teacher – flew today from Tehran to Moscow. The Iranian artist has been practicing calligraphy for over 20 years. His masterpieces are displayed all over the world at the largest exhibitions and festivals. Babak Rashvand has a master’s degree in visual communications. His workshop at the Museum will be dedicated to Persian calligraphy. The interactive presentation will be attended by representatives of the embassy of Iran in the Russian Federation. The workshop is to take place on November 25 from 12.00 to 15.00.

Another event that day will be a report by a famous Russian calligrapher Egor Lobusov, who is a constant participant in the International Exhibition of Calligraphy. The master will tell the audience how traditional Chinese calligraphy helps to improve one’s health. The master class is to take place from 16.00 to 17.30.
