Museum team meets with Lyubov Dukhanina in State Duma

On February 5, 2019, a working meeting was held in the State Duma between the team of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy and Russian State Duma Deputy and Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science Lyubov Dukhanina.

Lyubov Dukhanina has been lending her support to the Museum's calligraphy projects for several years now and is very keen to stay informed on the latest and most interesting news in the field.

During the meeting, a decision was reached to hold the exhibition "Masterpieces of World Calligraphy", which will feature the best calligraphy specimens created by contemporary artists from Russia and abroad, from May 27 to 30, 2019. It was also decided that the exhibition program should include themed workshops and round tables attended by State Duma deputies, scholars, and calligraphers.

The parties also discussed the preparation for the exhibition "The Great Chinese Calligraphy and Painting", which will take place in September 2019 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the USSR and the People's Republic of China. Deputy Director of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy Alexey Kharyutkin spoke in detail about the preparations for this large-scale exhibition, which is due to open its doors to visitors this September.
