Biography

Vera Yevstafyeva

Vera Yevstafyeva, type designer, teacher.

Born in 1980, Moscow.

Graduated from the Moscow State University of Printing Arts, the Faculty for Graphical Arts in 2003.

In 2002, she won a scholarship of TDC (Type Directors Club) Scholarship Award for students learning script design and typography.
2003 - 2004 Studied at the postgraduate course Type & Media, KABK in Royal Academy of Arts in Hague, Holland.
2004 - 2005 Participated in creation and development of Fedra font family (© Peter Bilak).
2005 - 2007 Staff script designer and calligrapher in Artemy Lebedev Studio.
2008 Freelancer

Typeface: Barley, Rossica, Aafje, Basileus, ALS Direct, ALS Dulsinea, Iona, Traffoldino, Lilienthal Grotesk.

Teaching experience:
2004-2005 Assistant at the Moscow State University of Printing Arts, the Faculty for Graphical Arts, Department of Art and Technical Design of Printed Products, conducting a special course on font design.
2005 — 2008 Course “Script and Typography” at the Moscow Institute of Modern Arts
She lectured in Moscow higher education institutions on Holland education in script design, creation of new script, photostencils and scripts; she presented reports at conferences of the Association Typographique Internationale and Svyato Kirilici fest in Kharkiv.
She is a constant member of ZapfGames calligraphic contest jury, held by Script workshop under the Moscow State University of Printing Arts.
