Master Chogyal Namkhai Norbu to visit the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy
The Greatest Dzogchen master of our time, Chogyal Namkhai Norbu has visited the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy, lecturing at the Buddhist Dzogchen forum in Sokolniki.
When Namkhai Norbu was two years old, masters of the Nyingma school, Palyul Karma Yansrid Rinpoche and Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche recognized him as the embodiment of Adzom Drukpa, who was one of the greatest Dzogchen masters of the early twentieth century.
This gave Namkhai Norbu forces to become the founder and spiritual leader of the International Dzogchen Community — an open community of people, uniting those who are interested in studying Dzogchen. Currently, there are many centers of the Dzogchen Community in Europe, South America, USA, Japan, Australia and Russia.
The Russian-speaking Dzogchen Community came into existence in 1992 when Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche visited the country just after the disintegration of the Soviet Union. Over 15 years of existence, the community has multiplied and evolved into a network of local communities existing in more than 40 cities in Russia, Ukraine and the Baltic countries.
Rinpoche has highly appreciated the excellent level of the Dzogchen forum, and expressed his admiration for the refined taste of the museum’s collection. The great master has donated to the museum some of his calligraphic works which he created just while visiting the Museum. In a short time, the teacher Chogyal Namkhai Norbu will join the International Exhibition of Calligraphy.
