The International Exhibition of Calligraphy to be held in Novgorod in 2010

From September 10—12, 2010 the International Exhibition of Calligraphy (handwriting as an art) is going to be held in the heart of Veliky Novgorod at Yaroslav’s Court, a representative of the Novgorod administration said on Wednesday.
“The ancient city of Veliky Novgorod will host the exhibition after its successful installation in Saint Petersburg in 2008, and in Moscow in 2009,” the representative said.
The organizers promise to show masterpieces made by world-known calligraphers from forty countries, and also calligraphy materials and equipment.
The exhibition is organized by the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy (Moscow), the National Union of Calligraphers, and MVK, the International Exhibition Company (Moscow).
The project has been carried out under the aegis of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO and of the Ministry for Cultural Affairs of the Russian Federation.
After the show in Novgorod, the exposition will go to Paris, New York, Jerusalem,and Shanghai.
