Calligraphy Exhibition to mark 70th anniversary of Sino-Russian diplomatic relations

Next year Moscow will see an exhibition of Chinese calligraphy and paintings to celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relationships between Russia and the People's Republic of China. The Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy presented the project.

Russia and China are about to launch a grand cultural project – The Great Chinese Calligraphy and Painting exhibition was presented in Moscow to open next September in Sokolniki. Top Chinese artists will ship about 400 showpieces to the capital.

A major exhibition of Chinese calligraphy and paintings will become one of the most prominent events in the cultural life of Moscow. The exhibit is scheduled to open next autumn, while long and meticulous selection of unique showpieces is underway as we speak.

The Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy in Moscow presented The Great Chinese Calligraphy and Painting exhibition. The event, due in September 2019, will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the diplomatic relationships between Russia and China.

On December 12, 2018, Russia celebrated 25 years since the adoption of its Basic Law, the Constitution of the Russian Federation. It was adopted by national referendum on December 12, 1993.

A representational delegation of cultural professionals from Chinese province Henan visited the Museum on Monday, November 26: Miao Shuqun, the Vice-President of the Association Henan Association of Cultural and Art Workers; Yang Jie and Xie Anzhen, Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Henan Association of Calligraphers, and Kong Xia, Chairman of Henan Association of Dancers.

The exhibition is titled Bukvalno, or “Literally”, and features over 20 works created by students of Victor Novikov, a graphic artist, calligrapher, and icon painter
