Prominent military historians will gather in Belgorod as part of the National Scientific and Practical Conference "The Belgorod Defemse Line"
Every year, historians from various regions of Russia gather in Belgorod to discuss the latest studies on the history of the 17th century, focusing on such a historical phenomenon as the Belgorod Defense Line.
This year the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference "The Belgorod Defense Line" will be held on November, 17-19th with the support of the Russian Military Historical Society and the Government of the Belgorod Region. The event is of great social importance and contributes to the popularization of historical knowledge, education of young people on the basis of the values of patriotism, citizenship, respect for national history.
The programme of the conference includes five sections:
1. Armed forces and system of management on Belgorod defense line.
2. Historical development of Belgorod line area.
3. Historical education and historical tourism based on the events of the 17th century.
4. Genealogy and prosopography in the context of history of Belgorod defense line.
5. Belgorod defence line: young researchers.
Over 50 applications were submitted by participants from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Tambov, Bryansk, Lipetsk, Volgograd, Tyumen, Kursk, Saratov and Belgorod. All those interested in history will have the opportunity to watch the event online through the broadcast in the social network "VKontakte" in the official group of the organizer, Ratnik Historical Society.

Public lectures will become a separate highlight of the Conference in 2022. During these lectures Belgorodians will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with the staff of the Centre for Russia in International Affairs at the Institute of Russian History of Russian Academy of Sciences, Alexander Malov and Alexander Vinogradov.
