We are pleased to present new works by Varvara Panteleeva, a wonderful calligrapher.

About the author:

"I am 32 years old, I have a family and together with my husband we are bringing up a wonderful daughter Eva, who is 4 years old. Now we are living in a cottage far away in a forest in Moscow oblast, where I have set up my calligraphic paradise.

I am an engineer by education, I graduated from Bauman Moscow State Technical University. In 2014, I founded the Nikolietta calligraphy studio, which provides calligraphy services all over the world, from creating a logo for a large company to signing a postcard. I have also opened a calligraphy school on the basis of the studio. Now I work in a team with talented people who share with me the idea of bringing creativity to people".

1. Portrait of Fyodor Dostoevsky. Sharp-pointed nib, walnut ink, watercolor paper. Period of creation: September 2021-March 2022. The portrait is woven out of the writer's philosophical sayings about life, love, upbringing, morality, God. The words are written in a continuous clockwise spiral from the outer edge to the centre.

2. Sonata Facile. Sharp-pointed pen, black ink, hot stamped watercolor paper, watercolor. Creation period: November 2020. In this work I have decorated the first movement of the 16th Sonata by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. I chose this work because it is a motif very dear to my heart. It was the piece my future husband was playing to me at the very beginning of our acquaintance.

3. «The Rose». Sharp-pointed pen, golden ink, watercolour paper. The words on love from the First Epistle to the Corinthians by St. Paul are written in a spiral, and in the centre they are transformed into a tender rosebud, as an allegory of an open soul abiding in love.

4. «Family Tree». Sharp pen, walnut and golden ink, watercolor paper. Creation period: December 2022. Every person should know his or her family tree. This knowledge allows you to build a solid foundation for your life, to get the energy of your family tree. And I decided that my daughter Eva Panteleeva should know her ancestors. I did my research and made a family tree.
