International Council of Museums of Russia support the exhibition "Private museums of Russia"

Organizers of the exhibition "Private museums of Russia. Treasures of Russia", which will be held in the Exhibition and Convention Centre "Sokolniki", have received a welcome letter from Alexander Sholokhov, president of the International Council of Museums of Russia (ICOM), First Vice-Chair of the State Duma Committee on Culture of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation with a message of project support and gratitude for work done on compilation of a single Catalogue of private museums of Russia. It is highlighted in the letter, that the consolidation of all the private museums of Russia in one catalogue helps to evaluate in its entirety the scope and the significance of the private museums for the whole museum society.

In a logical continuation of the gathered material, the exhibition "Private museums of Russia. Treasures of Russia" will be able to consolidate more than 100 owners of private museums of Russia from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka. The exhibition will demonstrate the best practice and experience of private collecting, and the fact of operation of Association of private museums of Russia will strengthen the society and contribute to effective cooperation with the state museums of the country.

The president of ICOM of Russia, Alexander Sholokhov fully supported the goals and objectives facing the exhibition and wished the organizers and participants of the exhibition a successful work, productive meetings and a pleasant communication.
