Happy news from the Vadim Zadorozhny Vehicle Museum

Another legendary aircraft has been added to the collection of the Vadim Zadorozhny Vehicle Museum.

Please welcome Tupolev Tu-16LL Flying Laboratory!

– This aircraft was built in Kazan back in 1956.

– Almost immediately after the production, the bomber was transferred to the Gromov Flight Research Institute and converted into a flying laboratory for testing.

– The plane participated in testing programs for the latest aircraft engines R-15, D-30, R-29, AL-21, and many others.

– In the 50s-60s the Tupolev Tu-16LL was piloted by the test pilot, famous Twice Hero of the Soviet Union, veteran of the Great Patriotic War Amet-Khan Sultan.

It was decided to preserve and restore the aircraft.

The plane is currently stored at the VoenFilm-Medyn Cinema Complex.

We would like to thank everyone who helped us in saving this rarest exhibit, and personally the management of the Gromov Flight Research Institute and aviation experts from the regional public organization Aviation Sports Club Albatros Aero.

The Vadim Zadorozhny Vehicle Museum is a member of the Association of Private and People’s Museums of Russia.
