In early June, the project team of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy visited Stanford, California.

The Stanford University was founded in 1891 and has been known since as one of the best higher education institutions both in the USA and around the world. The Stanford University alumni include such outstanding persons as Herbert Hoover, ex-President USA; Condoleezza Rice, ex-State Secretary USA; John Steinbeck and Robert Lauphlin, the Nobel Prize winners; Jerry Young and David Filo, the Yahoo! co-founders; Sigourney Weaver, the Oscar prize holder; Tiger Woods, the golf player; Paul Cohen, the mathematician; and many others. Currently, the Stanford University boasts more than 6 500 undergraduate and over 8 000 postgraduate students from various countries.

Our project team was welcomed at the office of John Hennessy, 10th President of Stanford University, whose secretary was happy to take the gift, i.e. a set of the catalogs of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy, and noted that John Hennessy had never received such an edition.
