The International exhibition of calligraphy was opened in the Northern capital
As it was announced earlier today the International Exhibition of Calligraphy has been opened in St.Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture n.a. Repin. Citizens and foreign guests were offered a unique exposition that accounts for over 350 works of best calligraphic schools in the world from 24 countries.
Along with antiques the contemporary art is also exhibited. The collection accounts for around 250 exhibits among which the most interesting and undiscovered may be the patterns of Slavonic writing, world historical manuscripts, rare letters and documents of the Imperial House of Romanoff taken from store-room of the State museum of history.
Exhibition visitors will study the collection of rare handwritten and miniature books from private collections, writing instruments of different époques, will see modern authentic patterns of applied calligraphy, RIA Novosti.
The pearl of the exhibition will be the one and only in the modern history handwritten variant of Constitution of Russian Federation that resulted due to efforts of a team of calligraphers and editors. Fancy folio will be presented on Wednesday during the gala-opening of the project and will occupy an honorable place in the exposition.
In the framework of the exhibition will be organized master-classes where local and foreign artists-calligraphers will give lessons of beautiful writing to pupils and students. Professionals will listen to educative lections.
Besides, the exhibition program provides – round tables, seminars, calligraphic performances, contests for amateurs of calligraphy.
