Charity tours in the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy

Traditionally once every month the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy holds charitable excursions for disabled people, veterans of war and labor. Elderly people often find themselves in a disadvantaged situation, but this does not mean they do not need a chance to see the world of art sometimes, to feel part of the cultural life of the capital. That's why we regularly host people fromf various social service centers.

June 30th, 2017 was the last such tour in this season, with the museum hosting representatives of Moscow social service centres "Yaroslavsky" and "East Izmailovo".

After the museum tour and acquaintance with various kinds of calligraphy, the guests noted that the time spent at the museum filled them with cerenity and helped to recollect their childhood, and with it, the long-forgotten skills of writing with a pen. For some, it was an inspiration to start creating beauty or simply to surprise someone kin by writing a handwritten letter to them.

We are happy that the art of calligraphy helps people of different ages and social groups discover creative impulses and find new interests in life.

We invite everyone to the museum and to the 6th International Exhibition of Calligraphy, which will be held in the Sokolniki Park from September 1 to 10, 2017!
