The Sunday Master Class Calligraphy in the Church Art Held on the 27th of December, 2015
At the last weekend of the outgoing year the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy held a master class Calligraphy in the Church Art conducted by the calligrapher Grigory Marakuev.
On the example of the development of the ornamental script Grigory Marakuev told the participants of the master class about the history of calligraphy in the church art during the period of time from the 15th to the 18th century. The calligrapher demonstrated the techniques of writing with a brush and recommended exercises for learning the technique of ancient Russian writing.
Having learnt the proportions of letters under the master’s guidance, the participants of the master class turned to writing the intricate patterns of ornamental script with a brush.
