Representatives of the Moscow City Government visited the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy

On April 22, 2011 Yulia Grimalskaya, Deputy Head of Family and Youth Policy Department of Moscow, and her assistant visited the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy in Sokolniki. During the tour around the museum Ms. Grimalskaya was accompanied by Oleg Samartsev, First Deputy Director of Sokolniki Park, and Aleksandr Kvasnikov, CEO of Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The guests were introduced to the most famous museum’s exhibits. Ms. Grimalskaya specially noted the World Famous Mezuzah, performed by Avraham Borshevsky, an expert on sacred calligraphy from Jerusalem. Oleg Vetoshnikov, educational manager of the National School of Calligraphy told about the first 2010 graduates, and spoke about Yuri Koverdyayev, the Curator of the School, who is one of the best calligraphers in Moscow. Yulia Grimalskaya got very interested in the National School of Calligraphy. Moreover, it turned out that she used to attend courses of calligraphy when she was a student of the Architectural Institute.

Finally Ms. Grimalskaya received a catalog of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy. She found the catalogue fine and the selection of works truly unique. She also stressed that the museum was a great place for family pastimes.
