Calligraphy courses for adults

The education program of the National School of Calligraphy consists of three grades.

Basic level:

• strokes, just to obtain a feel for the utensil and the work surface
• various oblique and rounded elements and the basics of beautiful handwriting
• common lowercase letters of the Russian alphabet
• lowercase kerned letters
• uppercase letters
• connective elements
• decorative calligraphic elements
• brain calligraphy exercises.

Second level:

• exploring the history of literature and different fonts
• writing drop caps and monograms
• working with different fonts: uncial, half-uncial Cyrillic book hand, etc.

Third level:

• studying the basics of sharp-pointed nib pens,
• basics of ligature,
• poster graphic arts.
