A calligraphy school to be opened in Primorye

The Primorsky Regional Centre of Folklife Culture will be opening a calligraphy course for children and adults, the project organizers revealed in a statement to Primorskaya Gazeta. A new school of calligraphy for the young that have advanced in the history of writing will be opened in Vladivostok.

«We plan on inviting a number of instructors who used to be judges for calligraphy contests. Calligraphy master and designer, Dmitry Ryzhkov, will be the head teacher,» says Ilya Fyodorov who is head of the instructions department at the Primorsky Regional Centre of Folklife Culture. The educational programme includes several stages. First the students will learn the history of calligraphy and the Cyrillic script. After that they will practice writing separate letters. The final stage will be writing down a small text without any assistance. There will be classes for two age categories: from 7 to 12 years old and 13 years old and over. The inaugural class will be held on July 28th, 2015 at 25, Puskinskaya street.
