Sokolniki will present the first handwritten copy of the Constitution of the Russian Federation

The Mystery of the World’s Calligraphy exhibition will be opened in Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre on December 9th with the demonstration of first handwritten copy of the Constitution of the Russian Federation.

A rich exhibition programme will bring works from all over the world, master-classes from the best calligraphers, a huge museum exposition that features historical manuscripts from all over the world, rare letters and documents, writing and calligraphy utensils, and a specialized library. According to the press release published in Vzglyad newspaper, applied calligraphy is presented with embroidery items and calligraphy engravings on household items.

Within the framework of this exclusive event a presentation of the first handwritten copy of the Constitution of the Russian Federation will take place. This is a truly unique and unsurpassed project initiated and jointly organized by the National Union of Calligraphers and the Rare Book of Saint-Petersburg Publishing House. The presentation will symbolize the revival of Russia’s spirit and recovery of its long-established traditions.

Within the Mystery of the World’s Calligraphy exposition project 35 copies of the miniature Constitutions (of the USSR, the Russian Federation, the United States, the CIS countries and Europe), as well as several inaugural speeches of the former leaders of various countries (Franklin Delano Roosevelt, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Boris Yeltsin, and others.) are to be presented.
