The Beauty of Writing

The Beauty of Writing

All those who paint or tag absolutely must sneak a peek at the real classic calligraphy at the 2nd International Exhibition of Calligraphy (from October 14th to November 15th, Moscow).
The 5 000 sq m exposition will unfold at Sokolniki ECC, Exhibit Halls 7a, 17. Moreover, the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy (Exhibit Hall 7) will reinforce the exhibition with its exposition available throughout the event.

Here the East and West shall clash in a calligraphic battle involving professional calligraphers and amateurs, the classics and the ultramodern tendencies and featuring works from over thirty-three countries of the world. You’ll be shocked by refined samples of Slavonic and European lettering, exquisite traditional Japanese and Chinese styles, sophisticated Hebrew and Arab calligraphy.

The Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy will premiere a World Famous Mezuzah, the only masterpiece of Hebrew calligraphy listed into the Guinness World Records, a parchment manuscript by Avraham Borshevsky, a Jerusalem calligrapher.

The visitors will enjoy the unique opportunity to contemplate rare handwritten books, calligraphic chefs d’oeuvre as well as to participate in mini-festivals of Japanese, Tibetan, and Slavonic writing and in calligraphic master-classes.
