Biography

Alexey Chekal

Born on June 28, 1973 (Kiev).

He studied at the Republican School of Art (Kyiv), Kharkov Art School and Kharkov State Academy of Design and Art (restoration of oil and tempera painting).

Alexei Chekal Works as an art director in PanicDesign graphic design studio (www.panic.com.ua)

He is a teacher at the Kharkov State Academy of Design and Art, Department of Easel Graphics. Engaged in postgraduate studies of the early Christian art of Syria he also works as an icon painter.

Alexei Chekal is a member of the 4thBLOCK association of graphic designers (ICOGRADA)

Exhibitions:

4thBLOCK, Gold Bee, International Biennale of Graphic Design in Brno, International Biennale in Warsaw, World Award of Monotheistic Religions, etc.

In collaboration with Professor V. Lensyak he organized the International Conference Exhibition “Svyato Kirilitsy” www.cyrillic.org.ua devoted to Slavonic script and calligraphy.
