The Form And The Letter International Exhibition of Calligraphy – 2014 in the Russian theatre of Estonia
The Form And The Letter International Exhibition of Calligraphy will take place in the Russian theatre of Estonia from May 31st to June 30th. The organizers are: From Aza to Izhitsa Centre Of Calligraphy Art, Saint Petersburg; Calligraphy School at Ukrainian Cultural Center, Tallinn; as well as the Russian theatre of Estonia.
The first The Form And The Letter exhibition was organized within the framework of the Days of Slavic Script by Pyotr Chobitko, calligrapher and teacher, founder of the first Russian School of Calligraphy, member of the Union of Artists of Russia together with his students in 2006. This exhibition marked the start of an annual performance report by teachers and students of the school.
This year the exhibition will be held simultaneously with the Tallinn School of Calligraphy, both in Saint Petersburg and Tallinn.
The exhibition will feature works by the teachers of Tallinn and Saint Petersburg schools made during the current year. They will introduce to the audience traditional Russian and European writing. Preschool and primary school teachers, as well as Sunday school teachers and parents will definitely find it interesting to examine the section with works by the children's department of calligraphy schools.
Besides, everyone will be offered to visit a free master-class during the official opening of the exhibition!
The master-class will be conducted by Pyotr Chobitko, calligraphy master, President of the National Union of Calligraphers, Art director of From Aza to Izhitsa Centre Of Calligraphy Art.
Participants of the event will be offered a truly unique opportunity: they would be able to perform several absorbing exercises using calligraphy tools, a pen and a brush.
Everyone is welcome to visit the exhibition on Saturday, May 31st, at 3 pm in the building of the Russian theatre of Estonia located at: Vabaduze vyalyak, 5, Tallinn.
