Moscow showcases Iranian calligraphy works
A number of calligraphy works created by Iranian artists have been showcased during an exhibition in the Russian capital city of Moscow.
The exhibition started its work during an opening ceremony held at the State Library in central Moscow on January 18th, 2014.
The Iranian ambassador to Moscow, a representative of the Russian muftis and many art critics attended the opening gala.
Organized by Iran’s cultural attaché in Moscow, the show was warmly received by visitors on its first day.
The exhibition, which is the first of its kind in Moscow, it displays various forms of calligraphy art such as calligraphy-painting and illumination.
The event has been held concurrently with the birth anniversary of Islam’s prophet, Mohammad (PBUH) and will run for more than a week.
Moscow recently hosted an exhibition of artworks created by a number of Iranian and Russian artists in December.
According to an earlier agreement, two countries established several cultural bridges such as the cooperation of the Russian State Library and Iran’s National Library and Archives.
A festival of Russian Cultural exhibition was also held in the Iranian capital city of Tehran in October 2013, to introduce the country’s cultural heritage and art. Officials of both countries believe that these art exhibitions provide opportunities for both Russia and Iran to expand their cultural ties.
