MCA Youth To Organise CNY Calligraphy And Drawing Contest

Selangor MCA Youth will organise a calligraphy and colouring contest on Feb 8th, in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations this year.

MCA Youth chief Senator Chong Sin Woon said the competition with the theme 'Welcome Year of the Goat' would be held at SJK © Pandamaran 'B' in Selangor, and open to all Malaysians, regardless of race.

The calligraphy contest will be divided into primary school, secondary school and open categories while the drawing and colouring contest would be opened to children in primary and secondary schools only, he told a press conference here Wednesday.

Chong said, apart from the competition, MCA Youth together with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia students would also be hosting UKM Ang Pow Festival, featuring a cultural performance and lion dance championship, on March 14th at the Chancellor Tun Abdul Razak Hall.

«For this year's festival, UKM will hold a big banquet to accommodate 100 tables for a crowd of 1,000. The banquet is opened to the public and tickets are priced at RM35 for students and RM37 for members of the public,» he said.
