Winners of the 3rd International Calligraphy Contest “Rewriting Pushkin” in Czech Republic

Pre-university course students of Petrozavodsk State University, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh and Dinh Bao Vi, Vietnam, won the Third International Calligraphy Contest “Rewriting Pushkin.”

Every spring the General Consulate of the Russian Federation in Brno (Czech Republic) holds the opening of the 11th Festival of Russian Culture named “Russian Spring in Moravia,” organized by the Russian Cultural and Educational Association in Moravia under the auspices of Brno Mayor’s office, the administration of the South Moravia region, the General Consulate of the Russian Federation in Brno, and representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Czech Republic. Various locations across the region of South Moravia host the festival between March and June, featuring art exhibitions, classical and contemporary music shows, and creative meets.

The festival included the Third International Calligraphy Contest “Rewriting Pushkin” to celebrate the 220th anniversary of the great poet’s birthday, and involved over 100 contestants from Russia, the Baltic states, Slovakia, and Czech Republic.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, the pre-university course student of Petrozavodsk State University won the 1st prize in “Text and Translation” nomination, Dinh Bao Vi took the lead in “Text with Imagery.”

Lyubov Vondroushkova, Chairman of the Russian Cultural and Educational Association in South Moravia (RKOSM), thanked N. Urvantseva, the Associate Professor of the Russian as Foreign Language Department, the Institute of Philology in Petrozavodsk State University, for her effort to promote the Russian culture, high level of foreign students, and the support provided to the international festival.
