Vasnetsov Brothers Art Museum opened exhibition “The Letters Speak. The Vyatka Alphabet”
Vasnetsov Brothers Art Museum opened an exhibition of Andrey Drachenkov, an artist from Kirov, named “The Letters Speak. The Vyatka Alphabet.”
Its exhibit features 44 letters of the Russian and the Old Slavonic alphabet, each made of various materials, such as wood, clay, spindle and others. The exhibition is designed to celebrate the memory of one of the authors behind the Cyrillic alphabet – the Saint Cyril.
“Calligraphy and letters help us remember our roots and culture to feel proud of it. A human is defined a lot through his or her handwriting,” noted the artist.
According to the regional government, this year also celebrates the 1150th memory anniversary for the Saint Equal to Apostles Cyril, Slavonic language teacher.
