The preparations for the Calligraphy Gallery scheduled for May 14th, 2008 and organized by Sokolniki MEC within the framework of the Euro Expo Furniture exhibition at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre (Moscow) are at full blast. The project participants continue to pour in their works representing various styles of calligraphy. The works of a graphic designer Yuri Gulitov, one of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy participants, are characterized by constructivism and freedom, brutality and lightness, a unique expressiveness resulting from integration of the rules of professional design and joyful energy of the modern graphic folk art. In his picturesque works, Gulitov actively applies fonts and free powerful calligraphy. The author will exhibit his Calligraphic Nude series and his original Calligraphic Font. It is not traditional calligraphy, but designer’s unusual interpretation of calligraphic methods and techniques and their blending with artistic methods.

Yevgeny Dobrovinsky will introduce the Stockholm Letters sequence of works. The works were created in Stockholm and in 2001 got the Grand Prix at the International Museum Biennale in Krasnoyarsk.

Pavel Semchenko, a calligraphy master from Belarus, is expected to arrive one of these days. He will bring his works and works of his colleagues from Belarus.
