Master class from Xiao Sueli, the best of thirty modern calligraphers of China
On 17th of May at 1 p.m. we kindly invite all the lovers of Chinese calligraphy and philosophy to the Contemporary Museum of calligraphy. This day the expert Xiao Sueli will held a master class on Chinese calligraphy and will represent the ancient Chinese treatise “Tao Te Ching” performed with special purpose for “ALONE in a BOAT reading Laozi” project. At the request of Mr. Li Hui, Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of PRC in RF, the expert has wrote 5000 hieroglyphs in grass-hand style. The book contains 81 calligraphic works and their performance required 1 year period.
This unique project unified three great masters of the contemporaneity and two great cultures: Chinese and Russian ones. The book has been created thanks to the co-authorship of talented people, skilled professionals:
- Xiao Sueli acknowledged by the state of Chine as one of the best thirty contemporary calligraphers of China, his works are considered academic and they have a genuine scientific value.
- Liudmila Kondrasheva, well-known Russian sinologist, graduate of Beijing University, Doctor of Science, Economics, employee of the Institute of Far Eastern Studies RAS on the issues of modern China.
- Fedor Koniukhov, member of Russian Academy of Arts, Russian traveler: yachtsman, alpinist, polar explorer, aeronaut.
This day every person will be offered the opportunity both to be acquainted with the authors of the project and purchase a book exemplar. The book “ALONE in a BOAT reading Laozi”, which is a result of synergy and synthesis of literature and fine arts, will be a wonderful gift to all the lovers of the ancient Chinese philosophy.
