Native of Murmansk joins International Exhibition of Calligraphy

Between September 1 and 10 Sokolniki Park in Moscow will hold the 6th International Exhibition of Calligraphy. For the first time ever a calligraphy artist from Murmansk, history of art teacher from Murmansk School of Art, Yuri Shachnev will join the list of participants.

The International Exhibition of Calligraphy dates back to 2008. Since then it's featured over 200 outstanding calligraphy artists from more than 60 countries.

The Handwritten Constitution of the Russian Federation and Tzar Mezuzah (the only calligraphy piece listed in the Guinness Book) are among the most famous exhibits of the project.

The artist from Murmansk submitted two his best works to be exhibited, which were accepted by the steering committee and now undergo preparations to be exhibited. This fall Yuri Shachnev will visit Moscow to participate in workshops and communicate with calligraphy artists from other countries.
