Brush Dance: Russia-Korea exhibition

On May 19 at 17:00 Primorye state art gallery, Partizansky Avenue 12, will open a calligraphy exhibition dubbed Brush Dance: Russia-Korea.

Modern day calligraphy is the art of fine writing, yet it's not only about fine drawn lines – it also serves as a way for creative self expression, educational and high intellectual development statement.

Russia and the Republic of Korea have long had creative links. The Primorye state art gallery has held numerous exhibitions of Korean artists, which had a good run among the locals. Despite our countries being close neighbours, we are different in both cultural traditions and mentality; therefore mutual exchange and cross-fertilisation are of utmost importance.

Group and individual exhibitions of Primorye artists have also made a name in various Korean locations, sparking unchanged interest of Koreans to contemporary art from Primorye. This is why the exhibition will feature artworks by Primorye artists who went far in the fine art of calligraphy.

The event will also include workshops by Korean artists and calligraphy artist Dmitry Ryzhov.

The exhibition will run until June 4, 2017.
