Dear Alexey Shaburov:

I would like to extend my great appreciation for the help and support that Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy has offered to Siyuan Program.

China and Russia have developed a comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era. The two sides have actively pushed forward political, economic and cultural cooperation. Therefore, to enhance the mutual understanding and trust between youths in China and Russia is of critical importance. As part of the Siyuan student development program, members of Siyuan cohort 2016 will visit Moscow and St. Petersburg in Russia between January 10th to January 22nd, 2020 as part of the social research themed “International Perspective.” During their thirteen-day visit in Russia, members will conduct in-depth social research regarding regional economic development, cultural communication and China-Russia cooperation.

On the 28th of May 2019 we were lucky to visit the grand opening ceremony of the Russian-Chinese exhibition of calligraphy at the State Duma of the Russian Federation. The exposition was not that big but the exhibited works, done in different traditions and techniques, fascinated and we observed that nobody was left indifferent. As always the choice and presentation of exhibits were thoroughly thought out. Especially I should point out the perfect informational support.

This event precedes the planned in 2020 International Exhibition of Calligraphy in Shanghai which surely will continue and develop the ideas of wonderful exhibitions, held in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Great Novgorod. And this time the co-organizer of the international celebration of calligraphy will act as the host country at the state level.
