The last day of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy

September 10, the final day of the unique cultural project, the International Exhibition of Calligraphy, was full of entertainment for all ages.

An experienced calligraphy artist and teacher Nina Kozubova held a workshop for children, titled My Name. Brush Calligraphy. Nina participated in all exhibitions of the project. The workshop featured Russian cursive of Lomonosov's era and a practice to write one's name with it.

Yuri Koverdyaev, an acclaimed pointed nib maestro and participant of all International Exhibitions of Calligraphy, held an interesting workshop about Copperplate to tell the history of what probably is the most popular calligraphy script and to unveil some tricks of the trade.

The interactive part of the day wrapped up with a presentation of the National School of Calligraphy, which is established in the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy in Sokolniki. A renowned calligraphy artist, participant of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy project and teacher in the National School of Calligraphy, Artem Lebedev, spoke of the courses for all ages to learn the art of calligraphy and also shared some tricks of the trade by demonstrating calligraphy pieces made by graduates of the National School of Calligraphy.
